Kim Gun-hee, who was nominated by Kiwoom in the first round of the rookie draft last year.
His mother’s tears became more of a topic.
“I had surgery and you must have been very worried, but nonetheless, when I heard that your son was (nominated), you were really happy and delighted.”
Kim Gun-hee, who made a name for himself as the best catcher in high school, faced a crisis last spring when he was a senior in high school due to surgery following an injury to his left finger.
From that time on, he started pitching as an experiment, and the result was a great success.
With a fast ball in the late 140 km, he had an earned run average of 1 point.
“The coach first asked me what it would be like to (pitcher) and I said I would try, so I think it’s been about six months since I started pitching.”

After completing pitcher training with bullpen pitching in Korea, he started experimenting with batting and batting in earnest with batting and defense training.
Training as first baseman instead of catcher, which was the main position, is also a stepping stone in preparation for a double job.

It is unknown what role he will play in his debut season, but his unmatched rookie temperament is raising fans’ expectations.
