This year’s draft includes 782 high school graduates, 296 college graduates, and 5 other players including overseas amateurs and pros. A total of 1083 people participated.

Hwang Jun-seo was early selected as the overall first-choice candidate in this draft. This season, Hwang Jun-seo recorded 6 wins, 2 losses, and an average ERA of 2.16 in 15 high school baseball games. He has stable ball control and uses a variety of breaking balls, including curves, splitters, and sliders.

Doosan, which exercised its second overall pick, selected Taek-yeon Kim, a right-handed pitcher from Incheon High School. Doosan even prepared a uniform with Kim Taek-yeon’s name on it. Kim Taek-yeon, who throws fastballs in the 150 km/h range, recorded 7 wins, 1 loss, and an average ERA of 1.13 in 13 games this year.

Lotte named Gyeongbuk High School’s Jeon Mir, who is showing off outstanding abilities as both a pitcher and a hitter, as the third pick in the first round. Jeon Mir recorded 5 wins and 1 loss in 14 games as a pitcher this year, with an ERA of 1.32, and as a hitter, he posted a batting average of 0.346, 3 home runs, and 32 RBIs in 27 games.

Samsung, which had the fourth pick, chose Jangchung High School pitcher Yook Seon-yeop. NC nominated pitcher Hwigun Kim from Whimoon High School as the 5th pick in the first round. Kia selected Gangneung High School pitcher Cho Dae-hyun with the 6th pick in the first round, and KT selected pitcher Won Sang-hyun from Busan High School with the 7th pick in the first round.

Kiwoom exercised the naming rights it received through a trade with LG last July. Two players were selected in the first round alone. Seoul High School pitcher Jeon Jun-pyo was named 8th overall in the first round with the nomination rights handed over from LG.

Jangchung High School pitcher Kim Yun-ha was selected as the 9th overall pick in the first round, which was originally owned. Yunha Kim is the son of Hyunsoon Park, a professional golfer and coach of the women’s golf team. He is also the nephew of ‘The Korean Express’ Park Chan-ho.

SSG selected Sekwang High School infielder Park Ji-hwan with the 10th pick in the first round. While all pitchers were selected in the 1st to 9th rankings of the first round, SSG was the only one to select fielder Park Ji-hwan in the first round.
