The Philadelphia Phillies traded with the Detroit Tigers.
‘MLB.com’ reported on the 8th (Korean time), “Philadelphia acquired All-Star closer Gregory Soto through a 3-2 trade.”
The trade sent Soto and Cody Clemens to Philadelphia, while outfielder Matt Bearing, utility Nick Maton and catcher Donnie Sands wore a Detroit uniform.
Soto, who has been on the major league stage since 2019, has a career record of 8 wins, 20 losses, 4.13 ERA, 30 saves and 210 strikeouts. He took the mound as a finisher from the 2021 season, and was selected as an All-Star for the second consecutive year. 메이저놀이터
Last year, he recorded 2 wins, 11 losses, 3.28 ERA, 30 saves and 60 strikeouts in 64 games, and was selected as an All-Star. He has a very fast ball with an average speed of 98.7 mph, but his 5.1 walks per nine innings is rather high. Still, Philadelphia wanted an overpowering bullpen and embraced Soto.
Clemens, who will wear a Philadelphia uniform with Soto, is the son of legendary pitcher Roger Clemens. He made his major league debut last season and recorded a batting average of 0.145, 5 homers, 17 RBIs, and an OPS of 0.505.
Meanwhile, Bearing, heading to Detroit, is now in his third season with a batting average of 0.246, 6 homers, 32 RBIs, OPS of 0.648, Mayton batting average of 0.250, 5 homers, 17 RBIs, OPS of 0.855, and Sands is a prospect who has appeared in only three games. However, Sands was impressive in Triple-A with a batting average of 0.309, 5 home runs and 34 RBIs.
